Cookie and Algorithmic Transparency Policy

Effective Date: 26 March 2026

Entity: Indian Attorneys Ltd

Entity: Indian Attorneys Ltd (Trading as "Indian Attorneys UK")

1. The Architecture of Transparency

Indian Attorneys UK ("the Company," "we," "us") employs advanced digital storage and access technologies ("SATs"), including cookies, tracking pixels, and proprietary algorithmic matching logic. This Policy serves as our formal disclosure under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and the UK GDPR.

2. Taxonomy of Technologies Employed

We categorize our digital tools into four distinct functional layers:

Layer 1

Strictly Necessary

The Vault Security Layer

These technologies are essential for the fundamental operation of the IA UK Platform. Under the 2025 Act, these are exempt from consent as they are required for security and service delivery.

  • Security & Fraud: Authenticating your identity and preventing unauthorized access to the Secure Document Vault.
  • Escrow Integrity: Ensuring the state-persistence of your financial transactions during fee processing.
  • Load Balancing: Distributing platform traffic to maintain 99.9% uptime for cross-border consultations.
Layer 2

Functional & AI-Matching

The Intelligence Layer

This layer powers our proprietary AI Lawyer-Matching Engine.

  • Algorithmic State Persistence: These trackers remember the specific legal parameters you input (e.g., NRI property disputes, succession laws) to ensure the AI provides a consistent and accurate match.
  • Performance Optimization: We utilize localized scripts to ensure that AI-generated legal summaries are rendered with minimal latency.
Layer 3

Analytical & Statistical

The "Growth" Layer

To continuously refine our service for the NRI community, we utilize anonymized statistical tools.

  • User Journey Mapping: Understanding how clients navigate from a Legal Query to a Lawyer Match.
  • A/B Testing: Evaluating which UI layouts provide the most intuitive experience for document uploading.
Layer 4

Marketing & Personalized Insights

The Outreach Layer

These cookies allow us to provide you with relevant cross-border legal updates and bespoke service notifications across social media and search engines.

3. Algorithmic Transparency & Profiling (ICO 2026 Standards)

3.1. The AI Match Logic

Our Platform utilizes Non-Solely Automated processing. While our algorithms rank and suggest legal professionals based on your metadata, every match is subject to human oversight by our consultancy team.

3.2. Data Minimization in Tracking

Our AI tracking does not scrape the contents of your sensitive legal documents for advertising purposes. The AI only tracks Service-Level Metadata (e.g., the typeof law required) to improve the matching algorithm's precision.

3.3. Right to Explanation

Under the ICO Statutory Code on AI (2026), you have the right to request a meaningful explanation of the logic used by our AI to suggest a specific attorney match.

4. Governance and User Control

4.1. The Granular Consent Framework

Upon your initial entry to the Platform, you are presented with a Tiered Consent Dashboard. You may elect to enable AI-Matching (Functional) while opting out of Marketing trackers.

4.2. Universal Opt-Out

You may adjust your preferences at any time via the "Digital Sovereignty Settings" in our footer.

4.3. Browser-Level Controls

Most modern browsers allow you to block all cookies; however, please be advised that blocking Layer 1 (Necessary) technologies will render the Secure Vault and Escrow systems inoperable.

Managing Your Consent

You have full control over which technology layers are active on your account. Use the Tiered Consent Dashboard presented on your first visit, or access the "Digital Sovereignty Settings" link in our website footer at any time to update your preferences.

Note: Layer 1 (Strictly Necessary) cookies cannot be disabled as they are essential for platform security and functionality.

5. Data Retention & Security

  • Session SATs: Deleted automatically upon termination of your browser session.
  • Persistent SATs: Retained for a maximum of 12 months to facilitate "Returning User" recognition.
  • Encryption: All data collected via SATs is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 protocols.
